FixCongress.info

Our goal is to address a variety of issues. We would like to offer solutions, explain our reasoning, and maybe work towards a more positive outcome.
In some instances, we might be proposing new ideas, and in some others, we would like to get a conversation started and attempt to come up with a plan/solution, or a compromise that all parties can agree on or live with.
If we can get our Congressmen to agree to some common sense suggestions, they might be able to work together in a more effective fashion, and as an added benefit, improve their approval ratings. As it stands, Congress is about as popular as having a root canal...

If you share our vision, please connect with us and help make it happen!

Welcome to fixcongress.info

Below is a list of some of the issues and topics we will be tackling.

Keep Track Of Congressmen's Voting.

- Keep track of the way Congressmen are voting so people can easily determine if they will be reelecting the same individuals.

Guarantee legitimate elections.

- In addition to the measures already in place to monitor voting, test the machines and verify them at the start and end of election day.
We want to be sure the voting machines are not programmed to count every 3rd or 4th vote for the other candidate.  The test might be 100 votes for Line 1 and 0 for the other lines to see if you get 100 - 0 -0.  Do the same thing for every Line (candidate) to see if the 100 test votes each get allotted to the correct candidate.

Ensure that the Congressmen's income and retirement are realistic.

Impose Term Limits on Congressmen.

Congressmen'sHealthcare.

They should be offered the same options as the general public as long as
we are paying for it.  They can have an option for upgrading it with their own money.

Change the Legislation for Government employees and Unions.
. Make sure they abide by the Law and are not exempt from Punishment should they break the rules. For instance, they should be held responsible and be transparent when it comes to their job. Pleading the 5th should not be an option. Furthermore, such sanctions such as losing your retirement or pension must be imposed if there is proof of misconduct.

Court term limits -- Federal and Supreme Court Judges.
.We need a constitutional amendment that would subject our higher Court Justices to limited terms ... maybe 10 to 16 years (with a possibility for return after a while -- maybe 9-12 years).  To be eligible to return, they would have to volunteer their nomination, and be elected/approved by a vote in Congress -- not by the President.
OR -- be approved by 55% of the population in an election.
.Reasons forlimited terms are obvious --
Our reason for a possible return to the bench is that if a judge is exceptionally good, qualified, and experienced, and furthermore willing to do the job -- then we want them to have it!

Have Banks be more responsive to Homeowners.

The amount of foreclosures can be significantly reduced if the Banks are willing to work with mortgagees during the early stages of a crisis as opposed to waiting until someone finds himself in a financial hole.

Wrongful Imprisonment Solutions.

Implement legislation that helps protect those who are innocent.
To help protect those who might be wrongfully/falsely accused of a crime..... The accuser who fabricates a fictitious crime might be charged and penalized as if they had committed the crime.  This includes police, prosecutors, etc
who withhold evidence proving innocence or plant evidence with the intent to falsely incriminate.
The legislation is much needed at both the Federal and State Levels.

Rules for Terrorism.
The Geneva Convention doesn't work and shouldn't apply when it come to dealing with terrorists.
We need a substitute agreement that other countries would abide by and support our efforts to deal with and defeat terrorist movements (such as Isis).

Minimum Wage.

Increasing Minimum Wage might sound appealing at first, but in reality it does not benefit the population it is intended to help the most.
